Who We Are

We aim at Empowering multidisciplinary teams in Africa to provide comprehensive breast cancer care

Breast cancer is an invasive cancer. It most commonly occurs due to a genetic mutation or damage to DNA. Treatment may involve surgery, radiation therapy, or chemotherapy.
Breast cancer is a type of cancer that begins in the cells of the breast. It can affect both men and women, but it is much more common in women. The cancer typically starts in the milk-producing glands (lobules) or the ducts that carry milk to the nipple (ducts), but it can also arise in the connective tissue of the breast.

In 2024, more than 360,000 people will be diagnosed with breast cancer. But there is hope. Advancements in early detection methods and support continue to increase the chances of survival. When caught in its earliest, localized stages, the 5-year relative survival rate of breast cancer is 99%.
